Bringing the product data in from Sage 50 to Storehub.io is the first step towards integrating with your eCommerce store.
Once this data is in Storehub.io, you can enrich your products with merchandising (add images, gallery images, categories, filter tags, product variables/sizes/colours and more), activate/delete products and flag products to sync to Shopify.
Connecting Storehub.io to your Shopify store is as simple as copy-pasting the API keys from Shopify onto your Storehub.io account. Once completed, Merchandising data will flow from Storehub.io to Shopify and orders will automatically write back to Sage 50 from Shopify and raise as a Quote/Sales Order/Invoice.
If you have an existing Shopify store, and would like to integrate it with Sage 50 accounting data, the following Storehub.io modes are available:
Merchandising on Storehub.io – This mode is used when you want to send product and merchandising data to multiple channels (more than just oneShopify store or a marketplace like Amazon or eBay).
Merchandising on Shopify – This mode is used when you have an existing Shopify store and don’t plan on adding a B2B/Trade store module in the future, or integrating with other marketplaces like Amazon, Takealot.com or eBay. This makes for a much simpler setup process as the user does not have to copy the merchandising information from an existing Shopify store into Storehub.io.
Upon an order being placed on Shopify, Storehub.io is notified and the order is raised consequently in Sage 50. You can determine what order type/document type is raised in Sage 50 (Invoice, Sales Order or Quote) based on the payment method type (i.e payment gateway or cash type order), and if the payment was successful or not (for payment gateway orders only).
Order information raised in Sage 50 contains the following:
- Sales channel order reference number
- Delivery address
- Billing address
- Customer details (name, contact number, email)
- Order line items
- Item prices + VAT
- Item discount % per line item (discount is worked out as a percentage of sale price vs ERP price). All discounts/offers are managed on your eCommerce platform.
- Order comments
- All orders syncing from Shopify to Sage 50 may contain a prefix that you define, like “SHO”0018443 – this helps identify the order at a glance.
How to Integrate Sage 50 Shopify FAQs
In order to integrate Sage 50 with your Shopify store you need to choose the right software to get it done easily.
Using Storehub.io, you can easily integrate Sage 50 with your eCommerce store by simply installing the Sage 50 sync tool on your Sage 50 server. This will automatically integrate product information through to your Storehub.io account, and thereon to Shopify.
The sync tool runs on the Sage 50 server 24/7 integrating data between Sage 50 and Shopify, with latest inventory stock and price info being key, and also fetching all Shopify orders placed online.
In order to integrate stock, price and orders between Sage 50 and Shopify, we’ll need to connect Sage 50 to Storehub.io.
Click the “Add Data Source” button on your brand new Storehub.io account, and get your unique setup code. This code is installed on the Sage 50 server sync tool. This process will automatically sync through:
Product SKU codes
Price (including or excluding VAT)
Once you’ve got all your product date on Storehub.io, you can now push it to WooCommerce.
Linking Shopify with Storehub.io is easy to complete, simply log in to WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > REST API and create a new API key. This key is copy-pasted into Storehub.io in order for the Sage Business Cloud WooCommerce integration to work.
In order to integrate orders with your Sage 50 with your Shopify store, all you need is your Sage 50 sync tool installed on your Sage 50 server so your data syncs to Storehub.io.
All information required to automatically sync orders from Sage 50 to Shopify is done so automatically, with the following being Integrated from Shopify orders:
- Product SKU
- Tax types
- Delivery & billing address
- Order reference
Everything you need to fulfill your orders in Sage 50 will be sent through from Shopify, including the cost of delivery allocated to your service item in Sage 50
In order to integrate Sage 50 with your Shopify store, you’ll need to ensure the following is in place.
- Cash sales customer: This is flagged as a “cash sales” customer type. This is the customer account that all web sales will be allocated to in your Sage 50 Accounting from Shopify
- Delivery service item: All cost of delivery will be allocated to this service item in Sage 50 on orders/sales documents generated from Shopify
In order to pay for the integration cost between Sage 50 and your Shopify store, you need to know how many product SKU codes you wish to sync to/from your Shopify sales channel.

- Pick the “Shopify” sales channel, with the appropriate number of SKUs as well on the pricing page

This means you can accept orders back to Sage 50 from Shopify AND your Storehub.io B2B Commerce store seamlessly.
The key difference is the Shopify retail store orders will go back to your cash sales customer in Sage 50 and the B2B Wholesale store will write back orders to each account customer account.
In order for the Sage 50 Shopify integration to work, you’ll need to be on V18 or newer of Sage 50 Accounting.
There are key database changes with Sage 50 before these versions, so you’ll want to update anyways to ensure your software stays up to date and also get the latest features and security patches.
